I think that my Dreamwaver 8 is getting slower and slower.

As I am running a lots of different projects, Dreamweaver writes a lot of site
cache files.

In Dreamweaver 4 I knew where to find the site cache data and a little bat
file has been deleting them when restarting my machine.

I have been searching for a long time but I cannot find the place where
Dreamweaver 8 stores the site caches of my projects.

Thanks
Michael

Find this folder -

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver
8\Configuration\SiteCache\<sitename>.dws

(these folders are normally hidden - you may have to use Explorer > Tools >
Folder Options to unhide them)

and delete it.

I don't know what system you're running, but the Sites should be in your user
profile. In Win2K, it's:

C:\Documents and Settings\YOURUSERNAME\Application Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver
8\Configuration\SiteCache

Hi Diane,

thanks - this really helped.

I am using WINDOWS 2000 but the Germen Version. So the Site Cache Files are
stored in a different location.

C:\Dokumente und
Einstellungen\BENUTZERNAME\Anwendungsdaten\Macromedia\Dreamweaver
8\Configuration\SiteCache\

Now I delete the .dw Files and my Dreamweaver 8 starts up like a rocket.

Thanks
Michael
