Install Dreamweaver MX 2004 on Mac OS X

HI, I'm a Mac Newbie. I'd like to know what I have to do to install the dw MX 2004 trial on Mac OS X.

HI, I'm a Mac Newbie. I'd like to know what I have to do to install the dw MX 2004 trial on Mac OS X.

I believe the trial version for the Mac is compressed as a .sit file. If
you're new to the Mac, you've probably got OS X 10.4 Tiger, which
doesn't automatically decompress .sit files. Open Finder, then select
Mac Help from the Help menu, and type Stuffit in the search box. That
will bring up a help page telling you how to get hold of a free copy of
Stuffit to decompress .sit files. Once the file has been decompressed,
double-click it. It will load a disk image on your desktop. Double-click
the installer icon, and follow the instructions onscreen.

The trial version seems to install properly, but when I launch Dreamweaver
nothing happens. I'm running MacOS 10.4.2 on a Desktop G4. I've repaired the
volume using Disk Utility. I've also tried installing in Safe Mode. Dreamweaver
just won't run. Any suggestions on what to do? Thanks in advance.

this is a well known isssue.
You need to download a patch.
go to macromedia.com and look for technical notes about MX2004 and OSX.
You'll find the description of your problem (dreamweaver does not
launch) with the corresponding patch to download.

I have had no luck finding the patch mentioned above. I've been at this for hours now and if anyone could point me o this patch I would be very grateful. Thanks

which OSX are you using? Tiger?
If so look at the same place you found the patch, look for known issues
concerning Tiger.

I am running DMX2004 on Tiger and I had the same problem at first. I
don't remember what the solution was but I think it was something about
the latest Java that I needed to instal or seomthing like this.
