My Dreamweaver program which was purchased through Adobe Creative suite has
stopped working. An error window appears. The popup window is a Macromedia
window called 'Macromedia Product Activation'.
The message then reads:
Please reinstall your software.
A problem was detected with your application. Please reinstall this software
to correct the problem.

When I reinstall, it doesn't ask for any activation codes.
The icon appears as part of my Studio 8 programs, but when I click on the
icon, the same message appears.

There doesn't seem to be anything that I can do to fix this. There is no
product support for Dreamweaver.

I rely on this program for my business and really need help.

Where is this icon? Is it one that you created yourself by copying it
to the desktop or something? If you're on Windows Vista, try using the
path to the icon through the Start menu. For example, on my system:

Start->All Programs->Adobe Master Collection CS3->Adobe Dreamweaver CS3

Can you right-click on the icon and change its properties to run the
Adobe CS version instead of the Macromedia DW8 version?

The one time I needed to call Adobe with licensing question, they were
VERY helpful - and I think it was also regarding a Macromedia-to-Adobe
product. I don't recall which number I called, but it was probably
Customer Service.
