Hi there,
I have a problem logging onto one of my sitesŽ server.

I use DW MX 2004 - I have installed the latest update (7.01).

When attempting logon to the FTP I get the following:

"An FTP-error occurred - cannot make connection to host.
Dreamweaver encountered an internal data error.
Please try the operation again."

This particular site is the only one IŽm having problems with - connections
are good on all other sites.

WhatŽs wrong?
Can anyone help me?

A server related problem.

No, I donŽt think itŽs a server-related problem.
Not as the app (DW) says that itŽs an "internal data error"...
As I understand it, the error must exist within DW - but nothing IŽve done
have helped any...
Amongst other things, I tried re-creating the site cache - and the other
sites (on the same server) are connecting without any problems at all.

But Grouch, thnaks for your reply! :o)

Any other suggestions???

Well if I can connect to 4 sites out of 5, I would say the 5 is a server
fault.? Time will tell.

What is your firewall? Are you using passive FTP for this site?

Hi Murray - thank you for your reply :o)
I use the firewall included in the Norman Protection package (www.norman.no)
- and yes, I use passive FTP for all my sites.

The connection HAS been working all right - until this morning so... right
now IŽm thinking about deleting all the site-settings and re-configure.

Hi David - and thanks for taking your time to help me,
I donŽt use any other FTP-clients so I really cannot say if thatŽs the
issue.

And finally... Grouch :o)
Yes, I see the point in your argumentation - but I still feel the problem
must be contained within DW - as it has been working before.

Thanks to all of you - one can always count on great, helpful replies to
(almost) any question.

So the Problem was.?

If the settings have not changed within DW then it can have only been server
side fault.

Grouch,
They were movin all the hosted websites from one server to another - but I
made him open a port, so I wasable to get on-line and upload my site-files.

Everything is okay now, thank you very much.

Can you connect to that FTP site using a different FTP client? For
example, WS_FTP, CuteFTP or Fetch? We have a bug logged saying that
the FTP server being down can be a cause for the "internal data
error".
